Last month, Accelerator Nepal initiated its TechX cohort with eight tech companies working in the health and education sectors of Nepal.
The eight companies include: Karkhana, Skill lab, Hoku, Hamro health, Switch on Tech, Wise yak, Durshikshya, and Doctors on call Nepal.
Karkhana is a social enterprise that develops and offers learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
Skill Lab helps individuals, career advisors, and organizations plan and support career pathways through seamless digital integration with academic and corporate websites.
Hoku is an educational platform designed to help students identify their areas of struggle and provide tailored guidelines to support their learning journey.
Hamro Health enables individuals to connect with trusted health professionals through technology.
Switch on Tech is a technology solution designed to digitise and streamline the health insurance process, addressing the challenges of complicated and lengthy procedures
Wise Yak is an AI driven healthcare startup that leverages advanced AI to streamline processes, improve diagnostics and treatment planning.
Durshikshya is an ed-tech company providing training on robotics, coding for kids and diplomas for working professionals.
Doctors on Call Nepal is a healthcare service provider that provides home-based and digital health services, accessible through a simple call or message.
The acceleration program will be assisting the cohort in refining their innovations, growing their business, and scaling their impacts through tailored technical assistance, mentorship, workshops, networking and fundraising. The program also offers a comprehensive support framework designed for startups and innovators with seed fundings.
As a part of its overall plans, the TechX program recently conducted its first workshop on building sustainable infrastructure at scale for the eight cohort companies.
The program’s LinkedIn post highlights that founders and their tech teams explored the Well-Architected Framework (WAF) and Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), gaining insights into creating efficient cloud solutions that align with business goals of security and cost-effectiveness.
The participating companies identified areas for system optimization and considered how to use the program’s technical support to address these challenges.
TechX is an initiative by Accelerator Nepal, a Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation program.
