Preparations over for Koshi Province Investment Summit

The Koshi Province Government has completed all preparations for the upcoming Investment Summit, set to take place in Biratnagar on Baisakh 18 and 19.

All preparations have been completed for the investment conference to be held by the Koshi Province Government. The investment summit will be held in Biratnagar on May 1 and 2.

At a press conference organized by the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers here today, it is expected that 54 projects in eight sectors including tourism, industry, information technology, agriculture, hydropower and infrastructure construction will be committed to various projects worth Rs 139.30 billion. The conference is expected to create an industrial environment in the province.

The conference  has aimed  to identify and establish Koshi Province as a major investment destination and the second periodic plan of the province will directly help in achieving the long-term vision of ‘Clean, Happy and Prosperous Province’ by fulfilling the goals taken for economic development.

Chief Minister of the province Hikmat Kumar Karki said the conference would achieve significant successes in industrialization and employment generation in the province. Stating that the conference was organized for capital formation in the province, he said the main objective is to attract private sector, non-resident Nepalis and foreign investment as well.

Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Rewati Raman Bhandari opined that the province government would make policy arrangements by amending the law through an ordinance to create conducive environment for the investors.
