A three-day event titled ‘Nepal Mango Fest’ is set to take place with the objective of promoting and marketing mangoes produced in Nepal. The festival will be held from Asar 13 to 15 (June 27–29) to showcase the diversity, taste, and value chain of Nepali mangoes cultivated in the Tarai-Madhesh region.
The event is being organized in collaboration with Kathmandu Organic, Agri Nepal, Earthier App, and UB Holdings. According to the organizers, the festival will offer a unique experience of Nepali taste, color, and mango culture.
Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Ram Nath Adhikari, will attend the inaugural program at Walnut Bistro in Lazimpat, Kathmandu. Nisha Tauz, Chief Operating Officer of Kathmandu Organic, stated that the main goals of the festival are to raise awareness of Nepali mangoes, strengthen the value chain for local farmers, and increase consumer access to natural and pesticide-free produce.
As a key attraction of the event, more than 10 varieties of mangoes will be on display, and over five varieties will be available for direct purchase from farmers. Tauz confirmed that Malda, Dussehri, Jarda, Kisanbhog, and Kalkattiya varieties can be bought directly from producers.
In addition, more than 20 mango-based dishes and beverages will be served at partner restaurants participating in the fest. There will also be entertaining mango-themed games and various activities for participants of all age groups.
The three-day festival will take place across three venues: Walnut Bistro in Lazimpat, H2O Café in Swayambhu, and Watering Hall in Jhamsikhel. All three restaurants have announced that they are preparing special offerings to make the festival more attractive.
