Huawei—a global ICT (Information and Communication Technology) leader has opened applications for the 2025 edition of Seeds for the Future initiative.
The flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative – Seeds for the Future focused on digitalization, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
The Seeds for the Future program offers a dynamic learning experience that combines both virtual sessions through an e-learning platform (a platform where students can track their learning records in real time, access to resourceful and updates for course information) and seed academy. The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
Highlights of the program
A key highlight of the program is Tech4Good Global Competition, which encourages startup teams led by students to identify real world challenges and propose innovative solutions. The top three teams will have the opportunity to win up to USD 100,000 in startup funding.
Participants also gain an opportunity to engage with global entrepreneurs and Huawei leaders. The students can also apply for the global ambassador of the program in which Ambassadors get chances to speak at local and global events and gain valuable experience. Selected ambassador’s role lasts for one year.
Who can join the program?
The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students who:
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, or rank in the top 30% of their class
- Are interested in the ICT industry and learning about China
- Are eager to learn, collaborate in group projects, and join global competitions
- Have good English language skills
The program is also open to the students from any academic background, offering a mandatory courses about ICT technologies including 5G, AI, Cloud Computing and Digital Power. |
What is the Seed for the Future ?
Launched in 2008, a global CSR program to nurture local ICT talent, promote knowledge sharing, and foster cultural understanding. It provides students with firsthand insights into the latest technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, and more, while also helping them gain international exposure.
The Seeds for the Future program started in Nepal in 2021. Through this program, students get the chance to learn from industry experts, explore the latest digital tools, and gain hands-on experience.
