First Provincial Honey Exhibition Fair-2081 in Karnali to boost marketing

The exhibition fairwill showcase honey from Karnali's 10 districts with the aim to promote honey production, marketing, and raising awareness about its value and importance.

The inaugural Provincial Honey Exhibition Fair-2081 is being held in Birendranagar city of Karnali Province, to promote honey production and marketing.

The event began on Tuesday, January 14, and will run until January 16. The fair is being organized in collaboration with the Federation of Nepal Beekeepers and the Karnali Province government.

According to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, the fair showcases honey produced across 10 districts of Karnali, along with organic food, a nutrition corner, organic vegetables, honey quality testing machines, beehives, honey extraction technology, mats made from edible banana fibers, and other related products.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness about the importance, production, and value chain of honey in Karnali, helping to establish its identity in the market. A total of 32 exhibition stalls are set up at the fair.

Additionally, a recent honey festival was held in Chitwan, featuring free tastings of honey varieties such as chiuri, rudilo, mustard, litchie, jamun, and phapar. The festival was organized by the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Modernization Project Implementation Unit.

Meanwhile, the fifth National Honey Fair was held in Kathmandu on 8 May 2024. The five-day event aimed to raise awareness about honey and beekeeping, promote the marketing of local honey, and facilitate the sale and distribution of indigenous bee varieties, including Bhir, Khago Putka, and Thauri.
