A 10-day provincial agriculture, tourism, cultural and industrial festival has begun in the district headquarters of Khalanga at the initiative of the private sector. The festival, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry from Monday, is expected to help promote local products, culture and tourism.

According to Purichandra Devkota, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jumla, the festival is believed to promote the agricultural, tourism and cultural heritage of Karnali and to convey a positive message for industrial development. He says that the festival is necessary for the marketing of local products and the promotion of tourism.

There will be special performances by local artists from Karnali throughout the festival.

22 stalls have been set up for the festival. All the stalls have been booked, informed President Devkota. Native crops, local dishes and handicrafts will be kept for sale in these rooms. “We have given priority to local taste and culture. Visitors who come here will be able to experience the native dishes and customs of Jumla,” he said.

The main objective of the festival is to identify investment opportunities for the economic prosperity of Jumla and the entire Karnali province and to attract local, national, and international investment. The festival will run until May 07, 2025.
