The Suntale–Baghkhore area of Bhojpur has been emerging as a popular destination for tourists, especially those seeking to enjoy the cool, fresh air and savor delicious local cuisine. Located close to the district headquarters, this scenic spot is gaining traction among domestic travelers for its natural beauty, cultural richness, and tranquil atmosphere.

According to local hotel operator Ganesh Tamang, dozens of tourists visit the area daily. “Suntale–Baghkhore has now become a preferred destination for tourists. Most people who come to Bhojpur make sure to visit this place at least once. Its natural beauty is what truly captivates visitors,” he said.

The region offers a unique opportunity to enjoy authentic local delicacies while taking in breathtaking views of the Himalayan ranges and surrounding landscapes. The growing number of tourists is also driven by the chance to experience the cultural diversity of the area, which is home to Rai, Sherpa, and Tamang communities. Their traditional lifestyle, attire, and cuisine have added to the charm for visitors.

Despite its rising popularity, Tamang pointed out that the lack of adequate infrastructure poses challenges in managing a large influx of tourists.

Situated along the Bhojpur–Dingla road section, Suntale and Baghkhore are easily accessible. These spots provide an ideal retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and spend some peaceful time in nature. At an altitude of approximately 2,400 meters above sea level, the area offers panoramic views of iconic Himalayan peaks including Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, and Gaurishankar. Visitors can also enjoy scenic vistas of the Arun Valley, Arun River, Salpa Silichho Peak, Maiyung Hill, Bhojpur Bazaar, Temke Hill, and Chakewa Bhanjyang—the border point between Bhojpur and Khotang districts.

To cater to the growing number of visitors, a viewpoint tower and picnic areas have been constructed. Suntale is located 10 kilometers, and Baghkhore 12 kilometers, from the Bhojpur district headquarters, making them convenient yet serene getaways for travelers.

With its blend of natural splendor and cultural depth, Suntale–Baghkhore is steadily establishing itself as a must-visit destination in eastern Nepal.
