The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs’ Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) is set to organize the 8th edition of the International Women’s Trade Expo. The event, which aims to promote and market products made by women entrepreneurs, will take place at Heritage Garden, Lalitpur, from March 27 to 31 (Chaitra 14-18).
The fair organised under the slogan “Work together, win together” will contribute to promoting and marketing the products of Nepali women entrepreneurs with an anticipated attendance of more than 50,000 visitors and provide an opportunity for Nepali and foreign women entrepreneurs to showcase their products, connect with stakeholders, and explore new business avenues.
The expo will be conducted in three phases to maximize impact — pre-event, main event and post event.
In pre-event, women entrepreneurs will receive training on branding, packaging, and business development strategies. These workshops aim to strengthen their market presence and equip them with practical skills to scale their businesses effectively.
The expo will also feature 144 sales stalls, including two pavilions. Of these, 58 stalls will be dedicated to women entrepreneurs from district associations, while the remaining 82 stalls will be allocated to both domestic and international women entrepreneurs.
In the expo visitors get to enjoy a diverse range of products, including agricultural goods, handicrafts, food items, international products, and service offerings. Women entrepreneurs will also get an opportunity to explore various marketing strategies and technologies adopted by other women entrepreneurs.
The expo will also provide opportunities to foster networking, knowledge sharing, and market expansion for women-led businesses. It will also facilitate business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions, enhancing market exposure and networking opportunities.
Post-event, FWEAN will also host a symposium, which the association has been organizing annually since 2019. It will bring together government representatives, financial institutions, digital marketers, and industry experts working with women and highlight the challenges, success stories, and strategies for championing women’s entrepreneurship in Nepal.
There are a total of 70 chapters of the association across various districts and boasts over 5,500 women entrepreneur members from 72 districts.
