Bandipur Rural Municipality has officially declared 2025 as the ‘Visit Bandipur Year’, with the goal of revitalizing the local economy and attracting both domestic and international tourists. The announcement was made during a press conference, where officials outlined their strategy to develop new tourist destinations, create jobs, and stimulate local economic activity with a strong emphasis on sustainable tourism and community involvement.
The initiative, titled ‘Bandipur Visit Year 2025’, aims to draw two million visitors — 1.5 million domestic visitors and 50,000 foreign tourists throughout the year. The campaign organizers are optimistic about boosting tourism revenue, with the average stay for tourists expected to be three days. Foreign visitors are expected to spend an average of 75 dollars per day, while Nepali tourists are projected to spend around 3,000 rupees daily.
Reportedly, the municipality plans to boost annual tourist arrivals to 800,000 over the next three years, building on the momentum from the Visit Year initiative.
Currently, Bandipur has 75 hotels and four homestays in operation, while 120 hotels and 12 homestays operate in the entire Bandipur Rural Municipality, with a capacity to accommodate up to 1,700 visitors per day.
In preparation for the tourism surge, the municipality is developing specialized tourism packages tailored to different age groups and interests, ensuring community involvement in the development of such packages.
The Bandipur Visit Year 2025 program is expected to cost approximately 45 million rupees, with a focus on enhancing infrastructure, creating new tourist attractions, and fostering investment in the local tourism sector.
